To keep a level head on the field at practice and events, remembering that I am there to teach and serve as an example just as much as I am there to learn and enjoy myself.

The harp is for music, the hare represents a "peaceful life of retirement" and the fact that the hare is salient or jumping represents to me my return to Belegarth. The hound is from my father's coat of arms and the fox is from my original coat of arms.

I'm so cool (and pretentious), I have two middle names. Word.

I am currrently working on finishing dual degrees in English literature and History with concentrations on early British Renaissance and the Middle Ages respectively. After those, I will continue on to yet another bachelor's in chemistry so that I might become a curator. The dream is to work in a museum, or theatre (preferably living history museum or opera company) as an education director to bring children (particularly teenagers) into an environment or culture they wouldn't otherwise experience. Opera can be super cool and sexy and awe inspiring. How do I know?

I am also a classically trained opera singer, pianist and alto saxophone player as well as moderately proficient in jazz "slap bass." I really couldn't stomach the bad attitudes of most professional singers and stopped pursuing opera as a career - a decision I second guess every day, though I don't miss the ulcers and the even lower self-esteem.

I love movies and spend as much free time as I can hanging out with friends and enjoying movies. I have a particular weakness for documentaries on the "adult film industry." It's sooo fascinating. *blush*

I'm not very athletic, but I was once upon a time a junior olympic competitor in fencing and reasonably talented. Belegarth has been hard to adjust to.

I'm pretty nerdy. When I've been drinking I usually start talking about Star Wars or Shakespeare (sexy, no?) and on weeknights, I game. A lot. Pen & paper RPGs, MMORPGs, FPSs, RTSs, miniatures games, board games, etc. etc. so on and so forth. More so now that I work for a gaming distributor and I get a discount.

Anywho, I pride myself on being complex, well-rounded and a complete dichotomy. To unravel the mystery, send me a message or find me dead in a field at an event and we'll chat.

We are all of us historians and when I was wee, my youngest brother got us all into Civil War Reenactment. Despite my status as a Southern sympathizer, we portray my Irish ancestors who were involved in the war on the Union side.
