Rausumea Practice (5:30PM - 8:30PM)

The Household of Rausumea gathers at Memorial Park in Medina Ohio every Wednesday. Memorial Park is also known as the City Pool, Jump playground, and now the Dog Park as well in many circles of Medina. Regardless of the name the Park can be found at 425 East Homestead Medina, Ohio 44256.
If it is your first time coming to Memorial Park and you are driving, there is a rather large parking lot located off of Homestead. There is additional parking across the street near the baseball diamonds. Sometimes baseball games will fill the parking lot if so there are side streets that dead end into the park along the west side the park that you can park on the street at, additionally there are sections of North Harmony street that allow parking on the street. Please be careful where you park and make sure it is a city approved spot. If parking in one of these auxiliary locations it would be wise to drop off any equipment at the main parking lot or near the pavilion instead of carrying it. All the parking in the area is free and you will not need to worry about paying for parking.
We gather and fight regularly in a section of the park that is often referred to as a gully. You can’t miss it, it is the large depression in the ground on the South West part of the park, Jump playground over looks the gully as well. On the north end of the gully is a large cement pillar and a large oak tree and we tend to hang around there on a regular basis. During rain storms we seek cover in the pavilion which is visible from the cement pillar. If bad weather is upon us you will often find hardcore fighters patiently waiting in their dragons (cars) for a break in the weather.
In spring or fall during smaller practices you will often find us fighting outside of the gully on the hills surrounding it. During winter we often fight at the Pavilion or up near the pool under its lights. Rarely will we slip in the back and fight in the light tree’d rear of the park out of site of the parking lot.
We get started at 5:30 regularly but sometimes it takes up to a half an hour before large melees start. The slowdown is generally the safety inspection of the weapons as well as it is generally considered a social time for the group. Practice is generally a couple of hours long. During the spring and fall we will go on until dark. In the summer we generally like to clean up before it is pitch black outside.
