I know...
The potential for pain
Pain that is now unavoidable
Lies and deceit abound
I want to help my friend

My friend that has been there for me
The secret held
The lie being told
They'll never know
But I know

My friend...
You've helped me in the past
You were like my brother
What happened?

Now this secret held from you
Could very well be your end
I want to help you
After all, you'd do the same for me

The deceit
The lies
The darkness abides

I want to help you
But I'm scared of the consequences
Because I know
It happened to me too
I know how it feels
To be used

To have your heart played
Just like a violin
To be manipulated
Just like a puppet on a string

But I feel
There is nothing I can do
No matter what I do
There will only be more suffering
Should I tell you and risk you hating me?
Or should I let it hit you
Like a typhoon on a hut of sticks

No matter what happens
Just know
I'm your friend
Not your foe

Welcome to this land where people betray
Aren't you glad that I'm here to stay
At least I'm not some stalking freak
Who gets off every time you scream

All those times that I had to fight
Just  so you could breathe today
I'm tired of all these bullshit lies
That you feed me to keep me down
All these evilsflowing inside
It makes you just want to die
All these lies have finally caught up
Now you start to ask yourself why

You said you were sorry
You begged for me back
I simply smiled and I said alright
And then I snapped your fucking neck

How blind your love has made me
Unable to see the lies
How deaf your passion has made me
Unable to hear my own cries

Cries that exposed
Exposed your dark lies
Cries of the truth
That my love for you should end

You deceived my heart
Just to use me more
Took all you could from me
You were justa little whore

It finally all came to me
When your lips met his
And as your clothes hit the floor
I watched in despair
I watched in glee
Enlightened I could see
That you cared for me no more

Months pass and you feel the disease
Creeping inside you as you cease to breathe
You knew what you did was wrong
You still continued to sing your Siren's song

The song that chained me down for so long
You cry out your song one last time
In hopes that I'll return
Just give up
You know you'll just do the same thing again
And get rid of me when you're done
Just grow up

You get one today, the other is forthcoming.

First off we have an advanced user search now. look in the User Menu >> Advanced Search at the bottom. Second I updated the map... Rember Thrush asking who the heck is this dot on the test map...

 http://belegarth.com/test.html

Well Now if you click on the dots it takes you to an advanced search of that zipcode. Sonow you can see who is each dot.  I am now 1 step closer. to releasing the map.

Today I also added Assyria as an Author, I can see she is already creating events for wolfpack on the Calander.

I have also noticed people are not using the Tags  when they write Blogs. I guess it is ok, but Tags are a really powerful way of organizing Blogs and makes for very interesting reading on our site.

On a personal note, My wedding is fastly approaching, so I hope people can understand that I don't have as much time as I will have had and will have again in October to support everyone's problems. Thanks Ora and Enoch for helping out so much with everything, I couldn't do half of it without you. I'll be a Gencon Thursday - Sunday so I might not be able to address problems from a proper terminal for as much as 6 days. I hope things don't break while I am away.

My first event started out with a 14 hour drive at 90 MPH up the 15, and ended with the reverse drive. However the journey was much more memorable then the end or the start.  The week long fight seemed to float by all too fast with each swing.  Usually ending in my own death; and of course a hearty chuckle.  I was so humbled by the fighters I faced because their was just such an overwhelming number of skilled players! I never got an easy break, which my endurance can only be credited to the water fountain conveniently placed on the side of the field.

Some honorable mentions for the experience of course have to go out to the coordinators!  Also Juicer and Kite for keeping me on my toes all week long >_< The night life was amazing which mostly involved either the Urukhai(sp) main fire or the Gelfan beer pong table (good times).

Sin night was surprisingly memorable through the drunken haze, and by my own intuition to head back to my tent before I did something stupid (Which backfired, but if ya want that story you'll have to PM me. Long story short I wasn't allowed to sleep in family camp the next night >_< )

The whole experience was an amazing first event, and I hope everyone enjoyed my company as much as I enjoyed everyone else's.   Much love from Archaeus of Andor and remember Belegarth collective, don't work too hard ;)

Man, what a blast! Only my second fighting event (last one was Rag XI... yes, I said XI) and I had a great time. I'm sunburnt to a crisp, cracked lips, bruised up and anxious for next year! I liked damn near everything but the dust... I can still taste the dust and everything I own is covered in dust.

I pulled together all my pics and posted them, pretty random though: http://www.talinor.org/modules.php?name=gallery2&g2_itemId=181

Gelfan snake at unit battles was almost as badass as team 'that's what she said'.

As the title says, 7 weeks until I'm off of active duty.  After the weekend, I've gotten everything from my vacation put away, saw Transformers, taught the dog to walk up stairs, and made progress on my newest armor.  I got all the fabric cut for it and some of the initial sewing done.  Now I'm attaching plates into the inside.  I was thinking of sewing pockets forthe plates, but rivets just look SO much cooler.  I also noticed that I have 2 different types of plates, well patterns for holes in the plates.  This will take some drilling to correct or the rivets will have a weird pattern.  I'm going to try and put the rest of the side panels together tonight and start the sewing on the front and back panels.  Then tuesday finish those up and rig up a temporary suspension so I can fight wednesday at SCA practice.  I really regret not bringing my red suit back from Iowa with me, since I would have been able to use that with some minor mods to fight for practice.  I'm really trying to get away from borrowing SCA-spec armor from other people since nobody is my size and I hate being a mooch.  I also contemplated adding metal reinforcement to my U-H suit over the kidneys, but decided not to since I might be selling it.  Anyway, I've decided not to add padding directly into this new CoP and instead make a simple gambeson so I can upgrade the armor at a later date and not have to make one then, plus when I use this for Belegarth it wont be as hot or heavier than it already is.  I've also been documenting the construction of this armor in photographs so I can release a series of blogs as a tutorial for making it.  It was relatively cheap to make, comming in around $40 plus whatever my tools cost.  I'm sure if I bought the metal in bulk it would be alot less, but I don't have the storage space for sheet metal in my apartment.  I don't have any cool pictures to put on here today, sorry bout that.

We had our first run through for our structured training plan developed by Sir Fox for our new fighters. Basically, we have six sessions starting with the basics and working our way up to melee. The objective is to present the basics to our new fighters in a structured and organized manner rather than them picking stuff up along the way.

This is the basic outline:
Session I: Orientation, Basics Part I--Attacks
Session II: Basics Part II--Defense
Session III: Basics Part III--Footwork
Session IV: Sword for defense, shield for attack
Session V: Small-unit tactics
Session VI: Melee

Each session is set up to be around 30-45 minutes long and we hope to cover at least one session every week. The sessions are structured to have blocks of instruction and then drills for reinforcing the learnings. At the end of the six sessions, the person would receive a scroll of completion.

The sessions are voluntary and people can leave the sessions whenever they choose. In the future, we may expand our training materials with possibly web-based information and detailed training packets so that they can easily reference the material. We plan on having standard swords and round shields for use by the trainees. Yes, I know there are proponents for starting with other styles such as single blue or two sword but we figured that sword+board would be a good way to start.

Back to how the sessions went...

We managed to run through about one and a half sessions. They went really well and our focus on drills helped to reinforce what we were teaching. Most of our drills are geared towards a pair of fighters alternating different attacks and movements.

Let's do this Chaos thing again. :D

I really can't wait until next year!!!! I'm so excited and utterly freakin' tired and happy that I went. We destroyed the grass, but that's not too bad. It's kinda normal anyway.

I hope to be able to go east in the next year or so and experience one of their events though I'm kinda freaked out and halfway expecting to have my head bit off or something if I do. Oh well...

No more spiders in the tent though......that's kinda one of the few things about coming home. Anyway, I'm going to start planning new stuff and getting ready for Samhain. Have fun and enjoy life!
