First Weapons Build: Complete Success

We had our first of probably 3 weapons building sessions last night at the Outpost. Faline, her brother Chris and Catlin opened there home to 17 new people and it was a complete success. Thank you's all around to those three for donating their place, which was one of the best organized weapons building sessions I have seen since joining Wolfpack. 3rdish dance class today. We started on the choreography for the recital on the 22nd.

I thought my hips hurt before. Yesh! I'm just glad none of the moves for the piece are 3/4 shimmies. I just don't quite get them yet, and I don't think I'd have it ready for the recital.

Gotta practice snake arms, as mine look too mechanical and too far forward.

Yesterday all of my college's classes were canceled due to a blown transformer power thingy. This means none of the buildings had electricity.

When I showed up, the only people around where about six of my friends.

One of which had his Belegarth weapons and his garb.

As did I.

The ensuing almost campus wide battles were fanFUCKINGtastic!

Now if we can do this on a day with other students around, we might get some new recruits. Or a lot of pointing [...]

Wolfpack started back up on the Quad at the start of the semester. I'm not sure how it has happened, our recruiting went way up. Part of it was that Lupus brought out his floor, but even that doesn't explain how we are doing so well.

Practiced 4-parry and 6-parry, as well as 7 and disengaging. Meet and fenced an old master named Cid. After he gave me tips on building a good airship he told me about how he learned fencing from an old man who fought with pistol and cavalry sabre in the late 1800s. I hear a lot of people complaining about the low attendance numbers for Belegarth practices and events.

I am thinking this is because of the downright dickishness of certain people.

I'm not asking for everyone to pretend to like one another when they don't, all I'm asking is for some courtesy, respect, and some niceness to people you've never met before and for the people who have been doing this for a while.

We had planned on starting our structured training classes this Sunday but we didn't have our equipment yet. Next Sunday...

On an awesome note, we had about 25(!) new fighters that stayed almost the entire practice and practice ran long at just over 5 hours.

On a more personal note, stressful times are ahead. I failed my Series 63 State Securities Law exam. I need this to become a banker. Thankfully I have been allowed to re-take it in 30 days. This test is no joke and to be honest, there is no good way to prepare. I am in the process, thanks to Athena, of making more flashcards and simply burning the informationinto my brain. Last night i fought SCA and man o man did they wehoop my butt.

i mean i was fighting this girl, she could not miss, i had no answers. hilarious, then i fought several others and finally got some much neede pointers.

Belegarth, as a national entity will not succeed unless we as the society come together and start working towards a common goal. Yeasterday I took off, I didn't go to work, I didn't so much as look at a computer, with the exception of attempting to get a phone number of Mr. Conley for my future mother in law.

I am getting married. 17 days as the counter ticks down. My Fiance keeps telling me that I am depressed. I guess I am. GenCon was horrible in comparison to last year. Theiris so much PR that could be done for our sport there, and we really waiste the opportunity. Despi [...]

Years ago it would have been no prob for me to go out on a feild(while in the SCA) and fight all day long with out complaint. Now just breathing winds me lol. I have had quite a few health problems and until just a few days ago was so depressed I could bearlly hold my head up. Then I was told that I was going to gencon by my friends, and told that if I didn't go they would take meout back and shoot me. How could I refuse.(I have always been blessed with wonderful friends)

So Fighting in School is a good thing now ;)
