Once again thanks to all the guys who have been helping out with the Belegarth site. Retirement will be nice. Stepping off the block has been good for me. I have had the chance to develop my Facebook application, which I am releasing Friday to the public. And I have had a chance to rethink old idea's and start to build a new direction towards what I think will be a betterment for Belegarth, and for my own sword fighitng skill.
My wife and I ahve come to the conclusion that it would probably be best for us to sell our new home in Wadsworth Ohio and make the move 40 miles north to Cleveland where I work every day. Which may prove interesting. I have to talk it over with the Rausumeans (not yet really) but it looks as I will be retiring from my possition in war council if that move happens. Luckily Rausumea has started to organize in a more Civil and democratic state so I don't leave too big a power vacume if I leave any at all. It will give me a chance to maybe join a new group or an old one, that I can help grow and develop. I wonder what exactly is going on with the old Pentwyvern crew, and if they would accept me (back) into their fold.
I installed the Numinu template. Our president saw it and really liked it, So I figure we will give it a try for a couple of days.
I know about the "this board sucks" thread. After they renamed the title with a swear word I really refuse to post in it anylonger. Way to make our sport look like an 8th grade school yard guys. I will sayI have read it. And I am right now trying to figure out a better solution for everyone. The Numinu template might be one of those solutions. I don't know. phpbb2 or phpbb3 with a port might as well. Right now I am not going to jump at changing the board right away, not with a Kyrian stepping down from war council and the holidays around.
FYI, my squire, Tethrin, was in a seriouse car accident last after practice last week wednesday. He's had internal bleeding from his spleen and last night I visited him in the ICU. Vorn, one of my Unit mates has been in the hospital in Cleveland since the day before thanksgiving as well. So I really can not address a lot of the issues as agressivly as I would like.
You want the board to be better, help out. Squeeky wheels get the greese, but being a jerk gets you nowhere in my court.
I am currently "clean" installing the board. All other times I have done upgrades. I think this might help some things. Their are queries running right now to put all the pieces of humpdy dumpty back together.

At my job my company is currently preparing to merge. Last monday my car was broken into... and I have had to do several repairs to it and other cars that we own. My good friend Josh is in the hospital with something like pluracy. & my squire Tethrin, was in a car accident last Wednesday and is in the ICU at Akron General... We gave him the go ahead to get his Knights trail this spring, and his doctor just told him yeasterday he won't fight for another year.
I sparred out some time this weekend to finnish the updates I wanted to get to last month. It is good to see people acting like children in the way they communicate things about the boards. I have a lot of respect for some people in my sport like our President Ian. But their are a lot of people who just lack tact skill or even common courtesy. I am pretty sure you know who you are.
I have been trying for the last 2 weeks to get all the realm reps real names and person names up on the WC Realm leader thread . And honestly it to some degree is like pulling teeth. It is a relitivly small task to undertake.. login post that you are a realm rep and post your name. I mean 15 realms have completedthe request already.
I guess I expect too much from Belegarth. If you agree with me or not you should comment about the 7 realms that have not reported their names in the WC discussion as of yet in this thread .
December is almost upon us, Their are major topics of discussion that will happen in WC for the December session. Saturday I will take the first real Vacation in probably 10 years. All my past vacations I have returned from totaly beaten up from events ever since I left Highschool. It also co-incides with the fact that Saturday at noon I will be getting married to Julie Rose my sweetheart for the better of 3 years. She'll be moving in to my house and I will finaly get internet access at my new home. Whichis kind of cool.
I find it odd that I am the top blogger on Belegarth.com. I don't blog about much. For the first time in a long time that I can remember I haven't been to practice in 3 weeks as of today. It all is odd. When I get back I have a few small projects I will be rapping up reguarding side jobs and the such and then I will dig into taking our website to a whole "next level" right now I think the site has a lot of really good elements but they don't work smoothly together for one solution. New visitors can easily get lost in the chaos that is our front page, and I realy hate most of the old text on the website. A minor face lift and new paths, and I have 2 modules that are installed, just turned off that I hope can get us moving.
While I am gone Kyrian has all the passwords to the website and Ora has access to most things. I am pretty sure the world won't fall apart. Rausumeans know how to get ahold of me as well if an emergancy occurs while I am gone. But I leave you all in the good care of Ora, Enoch, and the other admins for about 3 weeks while I am away honeymooning with my beloved.

Yeasterday I took off, I didn't go to work, I didn't so much as look at a computer, with the exception of attempting to get a phone number of Mr. Conley for my future mother in law.
I am getting married. 17 days as the counter ticks down. My Fiance keeps telling me that I am depressed. I guess I am. GenCon was horrible in comparison to last year. Theiris so much PR that could be done for our sport there, and we really waiste the opportunity. Despite, we still pick up several new people every year. Add needing to revise large sections of the site to my failure list. *sigh* Their is a planned workflow for getting to new information via the map. I will move to Beta, maybe today, maybe tommorow, and that will complete the last of the technologies needed to complete the designed workflow of the site. After Thursday, I am taking off until I return from my honeymoon, it will probably be the longest stretch of time I go without fighting, while un-injured since 1997.
I will be taking some time off from the website soon, wedding and my honeymoon are slowly becoming the only priority on the horrizon. I'll leave the website in those who are very capable's hands. And I am sure I will come back with a renewed vigor about everything, cleaning, and organizing things better and better.
Officers, BoD, and War Council; Oh My! If you all noticed Winfang Quit, and by quit I mean he came to my practice a week ago today and said, "Just delete my account, I am done". He pointed out an individual who drove him to just quit, I hope she realizes that she drove away one of the best, most passionate fighters I have ever met, as well as one of the few people on War Council who I knew 'got it' in reguards to what it takes to run Belegarth. Currently I will say it is the saddest, on so many levels, individual thing I have ever had to do in reguards to Belegarth. Our President Kyrian, is a very well resolved man, and I have great faith in him and his abylities to continue to keep our buisnes together with out Winfang. Winfang will continue to play at Avalon, buthas decided to continue his sword fighting career with the SCA, an organization he things is more organized.
Well nothing new to report today. I am going to Gencon tonight. I have contractors at my house re-doing my roof and siding the house while I am gone, so that will be interesting.
I have a new shield cover, that I am bring to practice before I leave for Gencon. It's pretty rad, I made it over the weekend while I was watching the browns game.
Something I would like to say, Their were private forums for the dumbest of speacial intrest groups, How could the populace not realize that the Officers had a private forum, I knew they did before I was an administrator on the old board. It would only make sense. I wasn't about to step on their toes then and now that I am acting as an officer it was designed to be a speacial place for the officers to talk about stuff before they addressed issues with war council. Their is an open forum for the Officers to talk to war council, it is called War Council. Their is an open forum for the War Council to talk to the Officers, it is called the War Council Forum. When the officers want to talk to each other about buisness they don't have a huge open meeting, they sit down and talk together about it so they can all be on the same page.

Well Now if you click on the dots it takes you to an advanced search of that zipcode. Sonow you can see who is each dot. I am now 1 step closer. to releasing the map.
Today I also added Assyria as an Author, I can see she is already creating events for wolfpack on the Calander.
I have also noticed people are not using the Tags when they write Blogs. I guess it is ok, but Tags are a really powerful way of organizing Blogs and makes for very interesting reading on our site.
On a personal note, My wedding is fastly approaching, so I hope people can understand that I don't have as much time as I will have had and will have again in October to support everyone's problems. Thanks Ora and Enoch for helping out so much with everything, I couldn't do half of it without you. I'll be a Gencon Thursday - Sunday so I might not be able to address problems from a proper terminal for as much as 6 days. I hope things don't break while I am away.
So I am debating over, using Blaster, the chat application I used on tests in the Kashmir site or x7 chat that IronCrown use to use to do chats. The difficult part is I have to program the system to portal into the x7 client. But the x7 client is way more cooler than the Blaster client, it is faster slicker and so much better. So I might just Turn on Blaster and write the portal to the x7 chat later on.
Which leaves the Map. I have yet to come up with an official set of maps to display the population of Belegarth on, I actualy think I am going to make 3 or 4 dynamic maps and build an interactive system so users can cycle through them. Which reminds me I need to totaly get the Getting started content re-written in a short while. For now it can continue to suck, but I do want to get it updated before fall.
Kegg hasn't E-mailed me spacific info on Oktoberfest so I might end up just writing an Oktoberfest page and putting it up. The Chaos page will come down Monday as the event will be over.
There is a lot left to do to the site. I wish I could devote more time to it, but all in good time I think we will have a fantastic site.
